Visual Storytelling for a Wilder, More Sustainable Planet
How iLCP Enables Conservation Through Art
Our Story: How iLCP Began
Over 20 years ago, a small group of passionate photographers came together with a bold idea: to use their craft to protect the planet. They realized that while words could inform, images could inspire action — sparking awareness, influencing policy, and driving real-world conservation.
From those early beginnings, the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) grew into a global community of over 190 world-class photographers, all dedicated to using visual storytelling as a tool for conservation impact.
Protected Critical Habitats
By documenting fragile ecosystems under threat
Saved Species from the Brink
through photographic campaigns influencing conservation policy
Raised Global Awareness
about urgent environmental challenges, from endangered wildlife to climate-impacted landscapes
Our Impact Today
iLCP photographers continue to tell stories that matter, capturing wildlife, landscapes, and ecosystems that need our attention. Their work helps:
- Establish new protected areas worldwide
- Support species recovery programs
- Influence policies and conservation decisions
- Inspire millions of people to take action for the planet
