Wendy Shattil was the first woman awarded Grand Prize in the London Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. She's also the recipient of NANPA's Lifetime Achievement Award (North American Nature Photography Assn.) In 2024, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science added over 100,000 images by Wendy and her late partner Bob Rozinski to their permanent archive. Over the course of her conservation photography career, Shattil sparked movements that led to the protection of critical habitats of innumerable species within Colorado and elsewhere “Conservation photography goes beyond just capturing images; it’s about telling stories that motivate people to act in support of nature", Shattil said.
